This cinnamon swirl coffee cake is a fantastic soft white cake with a trace of brown sugar and cinnamon. It’s a perfect treat for a Sunday afternoon with your favorite hot or cold drink. My husband loves this coffee cake with a tall glass of cold milk.

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a loaf pan. Line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl stir the brown sugar with the ground cinnamon and set aside
- In a bowl, whisk or sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In the bowl of your electric mixer or with a hand mixer, beat the butter until softened about 1 min.
- Add the sugar and vanilla extract and continue to beat, on medium-high speed, until light and fluffy about 2 minutes.
- Add the eggs, one at a time. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed.
- Add the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk. Starting and ending with the flour. Beat the butter on medium-high speed for 2 min.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula or spoon.
- Then sprinkle on the batter about half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Cover with the remaining batter and then sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar topping.
- Take a wooden skewer or knife and swirl the batter.
- Bake for about 55 minutes, or until a toothpick is inserted into the middle of the cake, it comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack for about 10 minutes before removing from pan. Enjoy!
