Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 7 g dry yeast (1 packet dry yeast)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (½ stick)
  • For the filling
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (½ stick)
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tbsp corn starch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • For the cream cheese glaze
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Splash of Milk (Start with 2 tbsp and adjust to your liking.)
Instructions
  1. Pour the warm milk into a small bowl and sprinkle the yeast over the top. Add the eggs and unsalted butter.
  2. In your stand mixer bowl, add flour, sugar, salt, and mix using the dough hook until the ingredients are barely combined.
  3. Add your milk mixture to your dry ingredient.
  4. Beat the dough on medium speed, for 5-7 minutes or until the dough is elastic and smooth.
  5. Spray a large bowl with cooking spray.
  6. Use a rubber spatula to remove the dough from the mixer bowl and place it in the greased large bowl. Cover the bowl with a towel or wax paper.

  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  9. Combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, corn starch, and salt, and set aside.
  10. Roll out the dough onto a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread the soft butter over the dough and sprinkle over the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  11. Tightly roll the dough into a jelly roll form and cut out the cinnamon rolls. Place them on a greased baking sheet.
  12. Cover with plastic wrap and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
  13. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (350 °F) for 20 - 22 minutes.
